Ed Salazar was born in Key West and has lived here all his life except for briefly
studying and then working in the broadcasting industry in Ft. Lauderdale.
Ed has three grown children and is really excited about his first grandchild, Ty
who was born on January 3, 2008 at 8.2 pounds and 22 inches. Shortly after
becoming a REALTOR in 1998 Ed became a board member of the Key West
Association of REALTORS. He first served as Program Chair where his duty was
to schedule speakers for their monthly General Membership Luncheons. After
doing that for two years Ed was elected President-Elect for 2003 then President
for both 2004 and 2005. In 2006 Ed served as Immediate Past-President and now
for 2008 he has been nominated to the board again in the capacity of Technology

Jeff Searcy
Jeff Searcy was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. Upon
completion of high school Jeff attended the US Air Force Academy
in Colorado Springs.

After 4 years at the academy and a bachelor’s degree in business administration he
fulfilled his active duty service requirement as an air craft maintenance officer. Jeff had
two 6 month terms in Germany, where he was able to see nearly all of Western Europe.
Jeff continued his education by taking night classes at the Citadel, in hopes of completing
his MBA, and also completed his service commitment while living in Charleston, South
Carolina. Subsequently Jeff sought out a job on a commercial Salmon vessel in Alaska. He
troll caught Salmon and worked on a scow for the 72 day season.
Upon returning to Charleston, Jeff vowed to live someplace tropical. He rented his home in
Charleston and traveled to Key West via the Intracostal Waterway in October of 2000.
When he arrived in Key West Jeff began working as a fishing charter captain, and also
met his wife-to-be Jennifer. Jeff entered the real estate business in November of 2001,
and has had a passion for the tropical homes and properties in Key West since.
Jeff remains in the top 3% of active realtors, and loves to call this beautiful island
community home. Jeff and Jennifer had their 1st child in June of 2005, John. Jeff hopes to
continue developing more business, and feels honored and excited to have joined Truman
